That's planned, not a disaster. They've deprioritized brand awareness. Siemens for instance doesn't need brand awareness, if they did, they'd pick an english name.

I think it might be answering long-term questions about direct chat use of AIs. Of course as AI goes through its macroscopic changes the amount it gets used for each person will increase, however some will continue to avoid using AI directl

They're part of the same company, but that's a good point. They both have mediocre security.

The author didn't explain what the actual impact was on them. They stopped at "security implications" because the only reasonable outcome that would obviate this "Warning to All Users" would be to provide the latest

They are essentially the same as software purchased from the 70s to the 00s though - shrinkwrap software, a term cleverly coined by Joel Spolsky. I just thought of it as buying software in a store at the time. Perpetual license is also a go

Perhaps instead of writing an llm abstraction layer, you could use a lightweight one, such as @simonw's llm.

I wouldn't use this, because it seems odd to use a Cloudflare Worker for something inherently static, but I thought about what I might use, and bunny.net came to mind. Now I have a question, which is why on the Bunny.net pricing page d

I was just pointing that out from the post you replied to, I don't agree with the author. However, I think that Iowa City isn't doing the symbolic fare, and that Brisbane's 50 cent fare would make some kind of a difference.

This gives me a good sense of how old these versions are: https://documentation.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-for-developers/refer... 14.04 LTS has Python 3.4 as well as Python 2.7.

I happen to be inclined to agree with what the post says. First it leads with a similing mastodon with hearts. Later on it says "I’m also aware that my aversion to public appearances cost Mastodon some opportunities in publicity."
