I think the examples by naysayers of what AI can’t do are often cherry-picked. The way has been shown with the web. Now many people who would have been paying a designer are using things similar to Wix. A lot of people don’t need top of the

I mixed up two things I was trying to do. I was writing an async generator and making it so inside the loop it could decide what to do with the delay. That way you could add a half tick if you wanted. :) But here's how I would rewrite

Thanks! You can paste this into deno repl and watch the seconds count up :) for (const [s, d] of (function*() { while (true) { const m=new Date().valueOf(), s=Math.ceil((m+10)/1000); yield [s, s*1000-m] } })()) { await new Promise(r =&

hmm, it didn't occur to me to use a timer rather than hit the up arrow and enter. Now I have this to watch the time count up :) async function* seconds() { while (true) { const millis = new Date().valueOf()

I watched in `deno repl` neatly sandboxed :) new Date().valueOf() / 1000 I was counting down by thousands of seconds, rather than millions of milliseconds, which is why I divided instead of using the native js value. Happy 1.7

If you viewed the whole action, like I did, it's clear. I bought a FitBit, took it with me to Latin America (with pics to prove it), and then Google went along and bought FitBit and now they're discontinuing it from Latin American

Of course. I was just saying that a lot of the time hashmaps don't get very many entries. There is serialization and deserialization where Cap'n Proto, Flatbuffers, and Protocol Buffers have a savings over JSON by not repeating ke

Why hashmaps? Python has named tuples. Oh - this puts a lot of keys into one hashmap, not a ton of objects with the same keys. :)

The age gap explains a lot of difference for me. I expected it with Douglas Adams. They should make a big deal about it when someone passes at such a young age. (And 70 is also young) However, it was still too much. If Jobs' passing go

Not ironic, maybe inappropriate, especially if his health is rapidly declining. Since I believe, and really want to believe, he's got a lot of good years ahead of him, I'm glad to see people speaking freely.

By calling it "repos", they're trying to capitalize on the popularity of VCS repositories, but these don't have their history implicitly tracked the way Automerge does, just explicitly tracked by committing and pushing.

Indeed this is not news to me. However I just learned something. It looks like Colombia and Ecuador give their own name to UTC-5 while Panama lets their use of it be called Eastern Standard Time. https://es.m.wikipedia.org/w

That's some more indirection, besides putting a disconnected python file in the project directory. I'm not sure whether it's suggested to install it globally, as a development dependency with poetry/similar, or with pipx
