My favorite Android app is Hacker News 2 - it has the best tablet support (my only Android is a Nexus 7) of any that I've used, and it lets me log in, vote, comment, view my profile, view threads, etc. EDIT: This is the one whose creator co

It's beautiful, and the animations on the mobile site look great. It's also one of the best-performing web apps I've used. Nice job.

Too bad I missed you - I've been growing up here for the last 18 years. Lived in Talkeetna for a while, now I'm near Wasilla, soon to be in Anchorage for school. And you're absolutely right. Palin's accent is very atypical of the accent her

Except Google+ and Gmail are very different things. Hotmail and Outlook.com are exactly the same thing with a different UI.

To all the people complaining about text formatting in Gmail, I strongly recommend Markdown Here: https://github.com/adam-p/markdown-here . It lets you write emails as markdown and compile them to HTML in the email composition form. (I hav

Wow, this actually looks very impressive. Do you have any idea why most of the "simple" game-making platforms are using Lua nowadays? Is it just because of its ease of embeddability into other systems, or is there something else at play?

A Metro-style launcher for Android actually sounds quite nice. The only problem is that few to no widgets actually adhere to that style, so it would look a little weird. Still, I can hope.

Subtlepatterns.com is hardly a bastion of skeumorphism. Sure, there are some "realistic" textures there, but they account for probably less than half the textures, and, more importantly, they're not used for UX. The problems with skeumorphi

Realistically, however, gold's utilitarian value does not even come close to accounting for its actual value. Sure, you wouldn't lose all your investment if the gold market suddenly collapsed, but you would still lose the vast majority of

It's not really UX, it's just a fancy animation - looking cool is its only purpose. You don't have to scroll to see anything, so it's not actually obstructing your use of the site. I don't really see the problem with it.

There's the ASUS UX31A Zenbook model, which I have. It's not quite what I'd consider high-performance, but the screen is beautiful.

You're right, and it's fixed. Thanks for the spelling correction. For purely practical reasons, I don't think it's a good idea to go around saying "niggardly", and I acknowledge that some people use it in order to offend. The point I intend

I'm still of the opinion that "gender" should refer to the grammatical concept alone, and this new usage should get its own word. It irks me even more when people use it as a synonym for "sex". But I'm pretty lonely in that opinion.

This is cool, but you should really add underscore to the page, as it makes it much easier to deal with large arrays (pixel arrays being the perfect example).

I think that compile-to-JS languages are going to explode in popularity even more than they already have when they can compile to an optimized asm.js. I might be misunderstanding its impact, but I'm hopeful.
