They're not doing this as a favor. If they intended to do it they would have done it pre-launch. They've had a huge amount of bad press over this, and did this as a response to it. They clearly realize that not doing so puts their

It's not often that Apple admits defeat like this. It's a good move, IMO. And an easy business decision. Cut the very high profit margins on all these dongles, and remain relevant.

It's useful to me, to let me know if it's a cold boot or resuming from hibernation. Kinda mentally prepares me so I'm ready to launch some terminals and tmux sessions, connect to VPN, etc.

Looking forward to seeing if a web standard comes of this. Would love to be able to make use of this additional UI in my web apps.

It'll be interesting to see if Apple releases a new external USB-C keyboard with touch bar. I'd expect it to be priced around $150.

Since all Wii U games are available as digital downloads, I'd expect that's the only compatibility you're going to get. They might have some kind of trade-in-your-disc-for-a-digital-download offering, but I seriously doubt

Not sure if you noticed in the Switch launch video, but that's Skyrim they're playing. It looks like Nintendo is putting some effort into third party this time, and they'll be the only "console" which allows you to

There is a lot of speculation in the community that when docked, additional video processing will be available in the hardware within the dock. When undocked, they can scale down resolution and frame rate for the smaller screen.

I think it would be unlikely that the user would step away from his machine before unplugging the device. If it was discovered on the ground, I would think the likely sequence of events is: 1.) plug in, 2.) open finder, notice nothing of in

Note that's $0.0025 per unit, not 25 cents per unit. Your post is correct, but, ya know, Verizon math is a real thing.

On the football game analogy: yes, there are two teams. One of these teams will win. Both teams suck but at the end of the day, most people will want to vote for the person who made the most points. It's actually exactly what it is.

This is just a platformer made in Java, that happens to have a few characters with the same name as Super Mario Bros. Nothing about the original NES game has been implemented here.
