Haven't seen the movie yet, but from reading the book I just don't see the white savior angle. Freemen were indoctrinated by the Bene Gesserit to believe in a prophesy and Jessica "lies" to them to make them believe Paul

This seems to be incentivising the customer to shop in-person instead of online and seems spectacularly uninspired, they could have simply waived taxes on books for companies headquartered in France? Or really anything that isn't simpl

Net income up 68%, that's terrifying high for a company that size. Good job everyone at Alphabet/Google.

Maybe but from the way they violate the GPL license and keep distributing binary blobs for their hardware I'd go out on a limb and say the money angle is more likely.

Just to clarify because I've failed at doing pretty much the setup that you are describing with my 1080Ti. Does this still require the vgpu_unlock changes for Nvidia cards or is this something that bypasses the need for it entirely?

I wonder if they could check the DNA of the natives that were originally from that area for any "old" Europeans markers or if there was too much mixing from the colonization for such a thing to work.

I always felt like Nintendo games are in a weird category of their own though. You don't buy a Switch to play PC game (I wonder how many copies of Skyrim they sold), you buy it to play the game you listed (I'd add Mario Kart). So

That's kind of his point though, OP did not need to post to HN, he can just contact AWS Support and get the bucket deleted at (probably) no charge. Support will routinely give forgive an account balance given a good enough reason.

I curious about the opinion of HN on the absence of 1080p (it's still 720p). Specially this part of the blog post: > The decision to maintain the original PinePhone’s screen resolution of 1440×720 was made early on; higher resolutio

True but even then for $2 shipped I get an ESP8266. On top of that most sellers are really accommodating if the package is lost and will send you another (sure that means in total it takes 5 months for the chip to get to you).

I don't claim to have all the answers, I'm just a software developer. For what it's worth, Jeff Bezos should pay taxes that match his lifestyle I 100% agree, but saying "he has 136B$ in the bank and we should tax that am
