Maybe I'm a special case, but I had a 13" MBP Retina and I felt scrolling was jumpy and computer overall could get very slow, while the MBAir I have now is actually much more responsive. I'm not sure, but I think the culprit

I dropped Dropbox about a year ago, after realizing I only used it for backups. Although a nice feature in idea I actually never accessed my files on other computers, so I dropped Dropbox and switched to Arq backups. I recommend it for anyo

Yep, they sure existed (for example at Xerox Parc as well), but Macintosh was the first mass marketed one. To be fair, I guess mass marketed is a subjective term :)

You're right, the Macintosh was the first featuring a graphical user interface and mouse. The point I was making still stands though, hacking was a niche at this time :)
