I would say that on the whole, Chat-based LLMs ("AI") have been a large negative impact on higher education. They are good enough now that mediocre to poor undergraduate students (or whole institutions with average students) will

Larrin Thomas (creator of MagnaCut) is truly a steel nerd. Btw, Crucible Steel filed for Chapter 11 recently -- and I know the knifeworld was anxious about what this could mean for CPM steels.

I am not sure what the question here actually is -- the title compares apples to oranges (e.g. Obsidian uses YAML for meta-data but markdown is the markup language). Then in the post itself, it sounds like you ask a question about how to or

I think you have a great idea here and I would keep at it. There are very few, if any, good solutions to combating the influx of AI generated work in academia. For many, I think your solution would be welcomed - even if imperfect- it gives

From the perspective of education at least, I see a use case in requiring students to complete all work within this app; similar to other tools for online test-taking. Of course there are always ways to game the system, but creating enough

I find this hard to believe. Rose-Hulman has an acceptance rate of over 70%. I know of 2 people who were accepted with credentials no where near the OP. So, if its true, there is a lot more to the story .
