I'm on the same page. IQ is property of the genetic dice roll, not something that a person earns. Tangible results based measurements seem more appropriate. Pure intellect is the raw material & needs to be refined/applied to be useful.

I'm on board with this statement. I've realized for quite awhile that there are some guys who are just on another level in terms of sheer ability. Sadly I am not one of them. I've run across a fair number of the 9-5 guys who used to be real

Percona also absorbed Maatkit in their tools for those familiar with it. Very handy stuff in there for automation of various processes. Pretty happy with Percona as a drop in replacement for MySQL.

Seemed pretty inevitable something like this was going to come down. Whole IPO process felt pretty hush-hush and kinda suspect. Pretty thrilled I didn't sink any money in it.

2 years after I graduated with a BS in Computer Science from the LAS College the Engineering College introduced the Software Engineering program. It was a joint effort between the ComS & CompE departments. Becoming increasingly common.

Currently working a webapp with a legacy(2002ish) java code base with a fair amount of testing but it's not even close to full coverage. JMockit has gone a long ways to towards making it easier to expand the test coverage but it's difficult

10/42 HS draftees did make at least 1 all-star game. Take a look at the list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_high_school_draftees I'd be curious to see the % of drafted players from college ranks that make at least 1 all-star game. HS %

I'm positive they don't. Anyone who's ever written anything substantial for a Java App server should know that HashMap isn't thread safe. Magic fix: ConcurrentHashMap....better still write your own. EDIT: I am also referring to the poster.
