I haven't been able to think of solutions that aren't worse than what they're doing. I'm extremely wary of the government forcing Facebook to behave a certain way because of the First Amendment.

You're free to disagree. But you're not free to force me or HN or anyone else to host your disagreement. To do so would be a violation of their free speech.

How do you figure? The only thing I see that's wrong about this is that I don't pay the EFF to tell private companies what to do. I pay them to stop the government from turning fascist. They're not wrong about Facebook being

I can't find the expression "den parlamentarischen Sumpf" anywhere. The article seems to imply that Hitler used it. Does anyone have a source of him saying it or writing it?

Also doesn't work correctly for me on Chrome Android 13 on a 4a. Missing terrain. But it works on Firefox! :)

I've been through DEI training at two different jobs. In both jobs, the trainings were about learning to ignore any biases one might have in order to hire the most qualified candidate, FWIW.

I admit this is my personal shortcoming, but when the IDE pops up anything while I'm typing I find it very distracting and damaging to my flow. It feels like someone interrupting me every spoken syllable. And they commonly cover up oth

IMHO this nails it. I finally caved to one of those "balanced news" sites because someone had a 50%-off sale. They have a feature where you can see news stories that are being ignored by either liberal or conservative outlets. It&

Do these numbers include denials when a provider bills more than the negotiated rate? I see this happen all the time with my insurer.

> If the government is transparent and does not lie about major issues, the theories (many of which do not even involve any conspiracy) will stop. I don't see why this would be true. People don't think the moon landing was fake

The "Can We Spot It" section is interesting. When I read it, it definitely reminds me of someone. But when my friend, a supporter of that someone, reads it, they're not. And in fact, they're reminded of the other team.

This resonates for me. I really, really did not like being in GATE in the 1980s for the same reasons. Also, now as a college instructor, I really like flipped classrooms.

Sony Music has zero reason to guard against false positives if they win this. Innocent people are going to have their service canceled. What are the odds this SCOTUS makes the right decision?

The boot camp I taught at years ago certainly wouldn't make sense today with the curriculum they had when I left. They'd have to have updated it significantly to be even remotely competitive with university graduates.
