Are you kidding? You used to be able to jailbreak iOS; now it's nigh-on impossible. Isn't that enough of an indication as to where the platform's headed? As far as OSX goes, the fact that it now prevents applications which

It seems like the entire planet is headed inexorably toward a locked-down, oppressed future, both online and off.

To be fair, Apple's hardware lately has been unimpressive to me (a longtime Apple buyer) and their increasingly locked-down, inflexible software is calling any future purchases into doubt, too.

I think a non-anemic amount of memory is the most important feature lacking in the Air. I often find my 4GB 2011 Air chugging and breaking a sweat swapping to "disk" simply because I've had Firefox open for too long. Would

> Given the circumstances, why would the USAF not bid out the launches? Maybe the bidding process was so corrupt and/or pointless that they just did away with it entirely.

Considering how US government pensions are administered, I am not at all surprised other branches of government are using antediluvian tech. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sf/national/2014/03/22/sinkh

That's cool; I just pirate everything anyway. (Don't worry, I live in Australia, where it's morally justifiable and usually the only option.)

Find an old pair of Sennheiser HD-580s. They were so good they un-discontinued them. Been using the same pair since 1999, with the same cable they came with (apparently the cable can be problematic.)

It always worries me when a case that's even remotely technical makes it to the Supreme Court. Sometimes it feels like trying to teach a dog a card trick.

Settlement seems low. Looks like every company involved ended up saving quite a bit of money, after all is said and done, with this little salary racket they had going.

As the article mentions, there's no real need for these search powers, when the phone can simply be turned off or physically taken out of range of reception to prevent it from being wiped. The feds have yet to prove this is even a rea

Gonna be a nice quick plunge down to the low $200s. I feel bad for anyone who bought a lot around $800 -- you'll be waiting months to recoup that investment.

Let them, then. I'm just calling it how I see it. Anyone who says "homosexual acts should be banned" is either trolling or they're a horrifying throwback of a human being. Either way, they're an asshole.

This has absolutely fuck-all to do with free speech; the government is not involved in this issue at all. People really need to have a better understanding of constitutional issues and applicability before they start running their mouth abo
