Eventually we'll want more from our standard, flat websites. WebGL is part of that. Not every site of course, but with the inevitable increases in processing power that come in the future so will our desire to be inventive with it. Keep in

Especially with the newer web apps coming out, Chrome 'just works'. Even though I personally use Firefox most of the time, I am telling others to use Chrome more over time. I know they'll always be able to see the web the way (I think) they

Awesome post. I deal with payment gateways daily, and you guys seem to be a cut above the rest. Keep it up!

I would definitely appreciate more about what they actually do and how many SMBs they are actively serving right now. There is a huge difference between 'we have a giant market to go after' and 'we are serving 10,000 SMBs and growing daily.

The fact that a user goes out of the way to broadcast that they're walking away from the service is a testament to how bad ass it truly was for them. Every developer should hope for that sort of torment at the end of use period for a user.

When I'm trying to push product out the door, I always fight the urge to optimize. As a compromise, I try and make it easier for my future self to optimize later, along with a note in a dedicated 'when you have time' doc. Sometimes it actua

HN and Stack Overflow I view as tools, utilities that don't require branding to draw in their audience. The brand is directly connected to the quality of content. Now for the web as a whole, good design definitely makes a difference, even i

I agree. Raise money. OK. Lets all do it - everyone in! Mark is a smart guy, and obviously right on the mark. But please lets focus on businesses with a real business. Those will continue through the ups and downs.

For sure. But if you're in certain competitive markets you are going to need to eventually level up those checkable areas either before the competition or in response. Also, I'd like to think nothing is irrelevant. If it really doesn't matt

+ 1 for Mozilla working in WebGL and moving the web forward. + 1 for Microsoft keeping them accountable. - 2 for Microsoft keeping yet another awesome technology out of their browser Mozilla wins. We're back to zero.

I agree with many of his points, but I think it very much only applies to the burgeoning stages of a bigger vision or a solo ran / small vision product. As many, many successful entrepreneurs have said before, outsourcing will absolutely no

I'm really, really excited about this direction for Windows 8. I could see myself jumping on the bandwagon if they handle the API correctly.

I Agree. If a business contact wants to get to me through facebook I cringe. Although I can see the current generation using it in a more professional sense.

I see enormous potential here for SaaS startups dealing with businesses to ease 1) initial hardware costs for a computer with a competent browser, and 2) support issues from hardware / software fragmentation. You can now give businesses an

You always need a foundation of knowledge. It's not lazy at all to search for, find, and implement the answer. A lot of the more helpful Stack answers are really just pointers anyway. Also, eventually with any complex problem you're going t
