I heard once that if you're doing something boring to pick an exciting technology. If you're doing something exciting, pick a boring technology. Not sure what you would consider exciting or boring, but I thought it was decent advi

I was a PA once, and we would call the area we kept the extras as District 9.

1password has the ability to generate one-time passwords for MFA. It shows up as a type of field in each entry.

1password registers a specific keyboard... but I'm not a big fan of that method. It's a terrible keyboard tbh.

GE Power's bread and butter is gas turbines, and the margins there are strong. As long as natural gas stays cheap, there is usually demand for turbines. Renewables have obvious issues, which is mostly around demand and load. Like solar

I believe there is a reason why it's rarely done by engineers, and that is because most management types view engineers as easily replaceable. Asking for a raise can put a target on your back when things get tight.

Also the margins on renewables are quite thin due to competition and recent innovation in that space.

Wireshark could see the packets moving across the network, but you might have issues seeing the payload. More so if the echo does certificate pinning.

You can set global rules and individual exceptions based on domain. Read more about it here: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Dynamic-filtering:-qu...

Looking at the uBlock dynamic filtering, it looks very similar to uMatrix. To block all scripts in uBlock, you'd probably want to block inline scripts, 1st party scripts, and 3rd party scripts with global rules which is possible with d

I'm sure you could use Wireshark and see what requests are being made, however, they very likely use TLS so getting the content of those requests would be extremely difficult if not completely impossible. However, if you don't min

Quite a lot, actually. I went to the NY Velocity conference back in 2014, and these are from my notes. Unfortunately, I don't have any sources to link back to, except I believe this was the session where my notes came from: https:

Unlikely, and I doubt Google would ever allow it. Chromecast is a closed protocol. There are SDKs for it, but you only have three options: Android, iOS, and Chrome.

I've never used lastpass', but is there a way to backup your data? That seems like the biggest point of failure for me. I dislike purely hosted solutions for critical info because they become a bigger target as more people join.

Does the language lack some maturity? Sure. But you don't have to use pure elixir for everything. You can leverage most Erlang packages. Phoenix is hosted on Cowboy[0] which is a mature, battle tested web server written in Erlang. [0]
