Thats what I do (tower for the GUI). The mercurial plugin on the other hand is great.

Yes, they will probably be the information controller under the DPA and have to be extreamlly careful that our data is safe. Even keeping a copy in a non EU country is very hard.

I think there is a nice trend online for services charged at a round rate, these aren't impulse purchases. But please post any results if you do an experiment!

Building an app in Node.js, so will be learning that along with MongoDB. Have another project to start and need to decide if I use as a tool to learn Python by using django or if learning 2 new languages/frameworks at a time is a silly idea

This is true, I live in Sheffield so attending means at minimum 1 valuable day lost in crunch time at uni so not sure if it is worth the risk....... booking train ticket tonight then.

your right and I have seen my percentage time on vim get higher an higher over the months, but thats from persistance. Its slow progress because I mainly work in eclipse and the vim plugins aren't 100% great for me. Vim is just hard work ge

This could be very good, I am still trying to find my perfect editor Vim's learning curve & interface means occasionally I just open up sublimeText2/TextMate. Great to see split views are there from the start.

The bigest complement about my MBA is I love(d) my iPad, I took it everywhere, but I gave it to my mum at the weekend because I don't use it anymore since I getting a base 13" Air.

Out of ignorance & interest, if I'm familiar with the technologies I want is DotCloud worth it compared to say AWS etc? Im guessing the main bonus for me would be having someone else worry about securing the server.

With the permanent stream of Node related stuff I have to ask is this what hacker news was like a few years ago with Rails? (I am aware node and rails are not direct substitutes)

Well I really enjoyed what I see so far. Partially just from the great links you recommended! If you do have a CRUD style app I always like being able to download the finished version for when I am stuck (which is often), nothing quite like

I agree, it also doesn't seam to 'learn' in the way quicksilver did. I don't think I've every come across launch bar but I agree on the price.

I think its fair to say quicksilver is more powerful, you can really do almost anything in it. I however didn't use many of the power features (resizing images or composing e-mails). Alfred is really just a launcher with a few nice bonus fe

I have found Alfred a very polished alternative and a little more robust than quicksilver has been over the past couple of years.
