If it is that hard the bar is probably set too high. Most of the skills are learned on the job after all. Most smart PhDs who can program well and have sound knowledge of statistics can learn to do this stuff.

You must be joking. Bullying in Russian and Ukrainian schools is probably much more severe than in US. It is common for people to get beaten.

It is possible to live with a baby in 1br apartment, a lot of people do it in Manhattan. The real problems start later, with preschools, kindergartens etc.

The average work week in US is 43 hours. To be precise, it is on average 8.6 hours per day worked. Working 11-12 hours is definitely not common. Of the few people I know who do it, all do it voluntarily.

Seriously? Learn web development? No one hires PhDs for web development skills. It is only useful if you want to be a pure software developer, not a quant or a data scientist. It might even be a negative when applying for some jobs.
