My “desktop” of the last 8 1/2 is an MBP. Perfectly usable, does mail and web and zoom and a couple more things perfectly well. Only 8GB of ram, but Safari seems to become faster and require less resources with each update (Firefox ….

Never gave mine either, but that’s the strength of FB: you don’t even need to have an account. They know everything about you because your friends, family and colleagues gave them that information.

That used to be true, but hasn’t been in a while. My 6s got snappier with iOS 13 and snappier still with 14. Haven’t tried 15 yet.

Did it get feature updates? Security updates? FWIW, the iPhone 6S (first avail oct 2015) gets iOS 15 ; and iPhone 6 still got a security update in mid 2021 despite being out of feature support.

Israel has 25% or so of the population below age 12 which are thus ineligible. Israel is much, much younger than the rest of the world, statistically speaking.

Is there anything among these that incorporates a basic configurable firewall policy? In the more distant past, I used sshuttle to create “one way” poor man’s VPN; it is slow, but it was enough to saturate the remote connections I had at th

Yea and no. Consider mathematical notation. That digit 2 could mean “power of 2” if it’s small and upper right of an object; “index 2” if small and bottom right. “Multiply by 2” if regular sized and to the left - very confusing! Indeed, it

Incredibly unlikely. The backup is AFAIK an SQLite file that contains the text messages (and indexes, etc). The bigger files - images, videos and voice messages - are not included in that backup, and are backed up independently to Google Ph

But value is not absolute. I broke my 6s home key last year. The phone was 5 years old at this point. Apple would fix it, for $200 or so. A local guy fixed it for $30. But there is a difference (I was made aware of by both Apple and local g

But when your iDevice breaks, you don’t necessarily go to Apple to fix it. Increasingly more, yes, but iPhone screen and battery replacements on the cheap are common where I live (compared to Apple costs). Mac repairs aren’t anymore, but no

I’ll counter with a question: do you tip when you buy a new laptop? At the grocery store when buying milk? If so, how much? If not, why not? As a customer, I want to know the real costs ahead of time. As an employee (last received tips some
