This is more than entitled behavior, it’s downright harmful. When (not if, when) binaries get trojanned, this causes blame to be directed at the original author, and takes a lot of work to explain that they are not at fault - this has happe

I actually like it that my phone stays in my pocket or backpack when I enter the car, and it just works; also the car keys stay in my pocket and I can just start it. The wires do work if I need them through CarPlay, or AndroidAuto. And I do

This is a great thread to ask a semi-related question: I have an 2012/2013 Samsung ARM Chromebook (silver, looks like a MacBook knockoff). Google dropped support for it a few years ago - is there any modern Linux distribution available

"Prediction is hard -- especially predicting the future". (don't remember origin of this sentence). Very little is actually known about what RenTec is doing. They claim to use "the simplest tools in a smart way" in

Some of the best performing funds (e.g. RenTec Medallion) use prediction. It is not overrated. Just incredibly hard to get right.

Unfortunately, "fasting" is not specific enough. For some people, it means not eating for 6 hours or so ("breakfast" breaks the fast even if you've eaten late last night). For some people, it means >24 hours. Som

The famous k<w>k<w>k case... indeed. I think, though, that most instruction texts do the reader a disservice by starting with LZW (and thus having to deal with the kwkwk case from the get go). They should start with LZ78, which

That would work well only if there are no pointers in the load result, which sometimes (if rarely) happens without planning in C or C++ code, but almost never -- or actually never -- happens with Python code. Or am I missing something?

Confusingly enough, there is also “red bamba” available in Israel (officially called “sweet bamba” but everyone calls it red bamba) which has no peanuts - only corn and an outer sweet red coating with a berry-ish flavor. An American friend

I might be mistaken, but IIRC it originally (as in, 60 years ago) contained peanuts, salt, and that’s it. 100% peanuts were replaced by 50% peanuts+50% corn some time in the last 30 years.

8088 and 8086 are internally equivalent, the difference is the size of the data bus - which would make little difference if any when emulating an 8 bit data bus processor.

TST has a good feature set, but it is incredibly slow with a large number of tabs, to the point of being unusable on older hardware. Sideberry has every feature of TST I ever used (and a few more), and is reasonably fast.
