This is the law in NZ at least. When selling to consumers, you must include the GST in the displayed price. If selling to businesses, you can display the price excluding GST.

My understanding is that DC currents are more dangerous as the effect is continuous. Whereas there is some electrician humour that at least with AC you have 50 chances per second to pull away (Americans get 60 chances per second)

The EV is also DC, significantly more dangerous than the AC at the same voltage.

I did not intend to be confrontational and you are correct that talking up your company without declaring your affiliation is not against HN guidelines. I feel it is however a convention that is widely followed and for good reasons. Obvious

Insufficient disclosure. You must be aware that of the companies you listed, one (yours) sticks out as being unknown. Don't die on this hill, just do the decent thing and add a disclosure. This doesn't show you in a good light.

To clarify (the first thing I wondered) each computer needs its own HDMI cable plugged into its own input on the monitor. So not true KVM as many people would think of it, but this saves you from having to use the monitor's input selec

Much as I love a good rant like this, I have to wonder if this is just the world moving on. I used to hate it (still do a little) when I toggle a checkbox, then go to hit "Save" and realise that the checkbox had immediate effect.

If the provider is bearing the costs (like here) then they always need some kind of authorization, or they have no way to shut off abusers or people with misbehaving clients. An API key is about the simplest possible way to achieve that, an

Sounds interesting (but a bit above my pay grade). AWS uses a streaming tech called NICE DCV which runs in a browser (chromium) on my raspberry pi. I was using a RP 4 before, but the performance is noticeably better with the RP 5.

It's a good question. Here's my specific use case, I'm sure there are plenty more. I have a golf simulator running in the cloud (AWS) on a g4dn.xlarge ec2 insurance. At home, I use a raspberry pi 5 as a thin client. It plugs

The world is different from the 1970s. There was nothing to do then in your apartment but watch TV and call people on your landline. These days people can lead intense, immersive (though certainly unhealthy) lives from their couch.
