I find your comment quite strange to be honest, and it's not comment. There are so many "the-final-straw-that-broke-the-camel's-back-I-cancelled-my-order" comments out there, of folks claiming loudly that they're ge

Many years ago I read some sci-fi novel, and in it was a sub-plot of a warring alien species that started destroying anything and everything they came across in their travels. The story went that their local system was in some sort of a dus

Look up "large format display". Its basically a TV sans any smart shit. Used in commercial display applications, dynamic menus in restaurants, info panels etc. They are mad expensive because presumably they are not subsidised by t

Intra is within, as in intra net. Inter is accross or between, as in inter net. So transcontinental is accross the same continent. Intercontinental is between separate continents.

Transcontinental means within a continent. Last time I checked Europe and South America are not the same continent.

Creator of $COMPETING_PRODUCT here. This product is really cool and congrats to the team for pulling this off. The rest of my paragraph is full of euphemisms of why my product is actually better, and why this product is actually shit. Top c

I find it highly suspicious that the reigning champion gets to drill the holes in the conkers. You can intentionally make some of them weaker by drilling closer to the edge or something. I assume the conkers are provided by the organizers,

I did not know it was possible to break those things to be honest. We made a circle with a string or something, and then let the two spinning tops (as we called them) duke it out, and the loser is the one knocked out of the ring. Ours were

For a while "written in Rust" was sort of a "trust me, bro" label. The hivemind asserted that something written in rust must be automatically good and safe, because rust is good and safe. Thank god everyone wisened up. T

When I use public chargers, I pay about €0.08 / km. When I charge at home, I pay about €0.01-0.02 / km. Assuming ~€0.10 / km for a reasonably economical diesel nugget... That's a little more than 10% for home charging :)

Yeah you have a point, but I also don't think it's fair to use a once-off surge in demand as your counterpoint. If I am driving far enough to warrant a charge, chances are I'm spending some time at my destination before comin

I don't think we should discount a competing product's existence just because it's a David and Goliath situation. If we all had your mindset we'd still be using MSN Chat on Windows XP or something.

I like your taxi idea. I hate driving myself. We could bring down the cost of the taxi by putting more people in the car, to share the cost of the driver. That'll bring the costs down significantly. If the car is sufficiently large, we

Not everywhere is massive and spread out like US. In Ireland I can basically get anywhere in the whole country with one charge and maybe a top-up along the way. I'm more than happy with my 400km range.

I'm not questioning why cars have software, I'm questioning why they need software updates . Specifically OTA updates, which means the car has an attack vector. A car should be an embedded system, there is arguably no need for an

I'm not aware of this. The manual says nothing about it. My kona does max 77kW, but most of the chargers in Ireland is 50kW. Honestly I've bot really had the need for faster than 50 anyway. I'm curious as to why one might nee

Why would a car even need to have security updates in the first place. Or are we arguing that software updates and patches become like car parts, and you can go to your local parts dealer to get an oil filter, fan belt and a USB with the la

My 2019 Hyundai Kona electric is a "dumb" car. Does not even have built-in nav. There is no connectivity, no app, no spying. Hyundai can vanish from existence tomorrow and the car would not even be aware of this happening. I don&#
