Interesting. I'm thinking that Android vs Apple may be decided on the simple fact that sufficiently-better AI trumps any-amount-better UI. Lawsuits and supposed openness be damned.

I'm not trying to be glib, but: so what? Some people will use it, because it will provide value to them. I may be one of them. Kids born today will, if nothing changes, think this stuff is absolutely normal. Your reaction is a valid one, an

I love everything about it except the gamification. They were really onto something inspiring, and then I got to the part about achievements and leaderboards . Beyond a certain audience, that's patronizing, and it undermines anything more

I wouldn't even say it's Pythonic. As a reader, I would prefer len+filter (or ifilter). That's the most semantically clear.

Side note: you can simply use sum(p(x)) for x in xs), assuming p is a predicate. It's a neat trick, though a bit slower than your ternary version.

I don't understand this part: "For founders who are younger or more ambitious the utility function is flatter." Does flat mean O(1) or O($)? I'd guess the former, but the latter seems to fit more with the conclusion.

Oddly, GP's account was made for the purpose of writing that comment. I'm unsure what that means.

Crazy idea: what if you could also pay with time? I'm imagining a screen that the user has to interact with, in some boring way, for some amount of time. You'd need something to discourage cheating of course.

There are already services (like Sentry) that track errors well. I want a service that focuses on the non-error logging part. I typically develop my JS with a lot of console.log calls. Let's say a hundred at page load, and more for each use

You can create value working 1 to 2 hours at a regular job. After all, if you can create value in eight hours then surely you'll create some in two. Value isn't just the magnitude of the work you do. It's that multiplied by the importance

The point of Node is that it uses JavaScript, and browsers only speak JavaScript. You have three choices: (1) use Node, (2) duplicate code client- and server-side, or (3) use server-side code that compiles to JS. Right now 3 is the least p
