Learning fast is fun to me. Edit: yes, I am dismissive because I've tried it and seen that its obviously a scam, in the sense that it's sold as a fun way of learning but it's actually just a fun way of not learning.

OT Does anyone know if the torrent technology itself allow incremental stuff? For example, if a torrent contains the first N episodes of a series and the N+1 episode comes out, is it possible to create for the new episode which references t

This article confirms that the common lore is broadly correct. Newton bought, stock goes up, Newton sells, realizes huge gains, stock goes up more, Newton buys again, stock crashes, Newton loses big.

But if people are selling because it will go down in value, the buyers know that too and bid less. The traded price will always be (approximately) one that makes you indifferent to buy or sell.

Not a good metric for producing scientific talent, and it doesn't distinguish reading fiction from actually educating yourself. For the purposes of producing scientific talent, reading fiction helps you as much as watching TV.

I don't understand these "never failed" comments. Without further context, it's meaningless. If I write a python script and never change anything in its environtment or inputs, it won't fail either. That's not

I thought that the person's age was often taken into account? I think it's silly to put someone 6mos in jail for creating a hybrid, but it's even worse when we're talking about a 81yo.

I bed that's true. And that's nothing to do with which is more complex. I'm not saying SQLite is more difficult to use, I'm saying it's more complex. You're confusing the two.

Right! And this isnt a difficult feature to implement either. You just need that A) every transaction, or better every leg of a transaction, supports tag, and B) the reports break down by tag.

I would like to learn more about this. Why is it that those things won't work with GnuCash? A lot of other people seem interested, if you have a blog this would be a great post.

Yes, I know what to do. Doesn't change the fact it's more complex. In fact, any database is more complex than a text file. You sound like the kind of person to push at work for a database when a file would suffice, introducing nee

Suppose you don't have SQLite, how do you open a SQLite database? The only way is you have to re-implement SQLite from scratch. Good luck with that. Now imagine you don't have vim, how do you open an XML file? You can use any of o

Lots of words, but the numbers are made up. The vast vast majority of the costs is fuel, and that can't be changed by tech. It's just physics.
