CoDel is meant to solve bufferbloat at a single network node, not along the entire path. TCP BBR, as a consequence of more accurate congestion avoidance, seems to (hopefully) reduce bufferbloat along the entire path . Both of these algorit

After using FreeNode for years, this is the first I've heard of censorship. Can you cite some examples? (Downvotes are not censorship, btw.)

He said the surgeon was "dead serious"... but it must have been an act, right? Sure, maybe he never saw one, but being unaware of at least the dictionary definition of "cartoon" seems highly unlikely.

> ...or he could have become a super-hacker because his memory for passwords is terrible. :P Necessity is the mother of invention. :) (The password trunction is quite a "WTF" though. Thanks for mentioning that.)

Simply put (since the article neglected to include the password), what should we learn from the article? I imagine the password was "too short". PS - My POV is fully critical. Please, do not be personally offended. [emoticon smile

He's lost two VITAL passwords? This seems like a false premise then (which is fine, but the fictional premise seems unneeded and disrespectful).

The majority of (living) Americans had nothing to do with those things. But yeah, as an American I should be doing more to improve the world and in response to your vitriol I will try to do better.

Is it? If they intentionally failed, I would agree, but I have seen no proof of that. Many ventures fail, regardless of resources and best intentions.

There's many types of TCP congestion algos and not all of them require dropped packets to begin the congestion avoidance.

and why don't all (other) addicts just stop being addicts? Given the chance, humanity naturally overuses... which is a problem, but not a wholly American problem.

My old Nexus 7 (2012) had a similar feature called PRISM/SmartDimmer which was equally annoying, though it could be disabled via sysfs. Many people did not notice it though, so maybe it was a net win...

Some Cyanogen devs did/do contribute to CyanogenMod, so I would expect some impact to CyanogenMod.

There seems to be a large amount of confusion in this thread about what Cyanogen Inc is and what CyanogenMod (open-source project) is... Here is a good article: http://www.xda-developers.com/corporate-explained-whos-cyano...

You are very likely using CyanogenMod (an open-source project) which is not a product of Cyanogen.
