Those graphs are pretty misleading. In the first one, manufacturing jobs rose from 11,500 to 12,100 over 4 years, or 5% growth over that period. The graph makes it look like roughly 1000% growth.

Other than stressful situations, what prompts the stutter? What causes it to go away? I think I'm probably quite similar to you, no stutter in casual situation, but more prevalent in stressful situations. If I'm stuck on a word, a

I don't have an IRA, and my funds invested in the stock market are under 10k. I set up an account with Ameritrade, and every so often put another $1000 in, so that the $10 cost is a smaller percentage.

Is there a way to invest $50/month in an index fund? All the brokerages I checked charge $5-10 per transaction, making it prohibitively expensive to set up a recurring transaction at such a small amount.

You're forgetting the opportunity cost of forgoing the salary of working for an existing company. Call that 10k/month for three months, and now your costs are closer to 40k.

That's what I did. I had a degree in Physics, and at the time, Microsoft had a small training program for test developers. I did that for a couple years, and through a pair of job hops, am now a developer at an established startup. I d
