Having seen a video[1] of a drone armed with a paintball pistol (and its precision), I would say that it will be much sooner than expected. Despite the fact that I'll probably be put on a watch-list for saying this, it would be the per

This trick is very helpful, but I would argue that there are still a lot more parentheses due to almost everything being written as a function in lisp. When I started programming in Racket arithmetic and comparison expressions tripped me up

in addition to what logicallee said, it's common for inexperienced programmers to (poorly) "re-invent" concepts that were discovered in the past by those "smart old people". This is caused by a combination of facto

The company I bought my mechanical keyboard from sells sets of O-rings that go under the key-caps[1] to reduce noise. They won't fit on every keyboard, but one could easily find different O-rings that do. I don't use them because

While this isn't exactly the same, the convention of appending "!" in scheme/racket to denote a function that mutates a value is helpful in my opinion. You don't absolutely need it, but reading through your code and

I recall reading here that on Android, an app won't automatically update if the newer version needs additional permissions, so most devs ask for all they could possibly need up front. Ideally, Google will bring back App Ops (with dumm

I'm not sure if this matches your exact needs, but there is a way to achieve this functionality in DrRacket: http://docs.racket-lang.org/drracket/Keyboard_Shortcuts.html...

At my school I frequently need to use Windows PCs, and having MobaXTerm on a flashdrive has been incredibly useful (installing Cygwin every time would be impractical). It is very powerful, and has a plugin system if you need some extra feat

The author raises valid points about Haskell, but I disagree with his statement about a static-typed lisp. Typed Racket is useful and enjoyable to program with, and includes a handy optimization coach.

Every time I visit a webpage that uses animations and weird UI behavior this[1] comes to mind. There are some cases where animation is nice, but I find the page very distracting and unpleasant to read. edit: Did anyone else try to scroll th

While you can use the same keyboard habits, I find it much worse. The whole screen gets taken over by a rainbow colored mess of an interface, instead of a concise list in the corner.

Also, the Racket example starts a web server with an html "hello world" page, which is unlike the other lisp-based examples. edit: my pull request with a fix was accepted
