Yeah, as long as we're focused on the really important things. Like animations that nobody actually needs or wants (apart from the person putting it there). That is, of course, until it ruins the user experience by bogging down the bro

Well, isn't it perhaps a bit of a chicken and egg problem? What came first? The bad habit of skimming a lot of low quality nonsense news or the fact that it meant so little to you that you can't really remember what you read late

Yes. I quit mindlessly watching TV long before I stopped using Reddit or reading low quality newspapers. Probably around 15 years ago? Streaming services became usable here (in Norway) a few years later and they lead to me (well, me and my

I quit visiting Reddit daily 6-7 years ago. The reason is very simple: I asked myself what value Reddit provides in my life. What will I remember from yesterday's browsing? Or last week. Or last month. Am I really going to miss out o

I bought a cheap laptop to run some industrial automation software and i was shocked at how bad Windows still is. I used to dislike Windows for being slow, stupid and buggy. Instead of addressing quality they just make the OS more creepy.

Here's a test you can do: try to access the ethernet inside your car. Still think it's your car?

I can understand why people do this. After having tried out various offerings written in Python, PHP, Node and whatnot I'm tired of things that almost work. That is, they work well enough to convince me to try them, but not well enough

Second hand Teslas represent a challenge as someone pointed out. You also can't necessarily modify or inspect the car without Tesla getting their panties in a twist (I dare you to connect to the network inside your car and try to get

That's a fair point. Not least because this is why I wouldn't consider buying a Tesla. It feels too much like dealing with software: it isn't your car. It is Teslas car. And maybe paying a bunch of money for it means you ca

Hmm, it almost makes me suspicious that the calendar system is abused to move data it isn't supposed to move.

I can see how you might think that. It is easy to think that adequate wealth is a goal in itself. Especially if you either do not have adequate wealth or you become caught up in securing that level of wealth even after you are there. Weal

I'm not convinced it is really about something as simple as salaries. If it was people would be flocking to SV from here. They are not. The vast majority of those who could get jobs in SV stay here. And the vast majority of those w

Funny, I've had the opposite experience. That might be down to things like hand size, how you hold the pen etc. I've had 3-4 Lamy pens and they have all ended up wither being given away or thrown in the bin because the nibs tend

I'm not sure I understand the difference between modern and classic inks. Is there a definition somewhere? (I have 20-25 ink bottles of ink and by trial and error I've roughly figured out what ink works in what pen. I probably s

I've been using fountain pens to write for about 35 years now, and I have pens that range from about $30 to about $500. At any given time I have about 2-3 pens either on my desk or in my backpack. The best value for money I've se

I've found that with regard to ink, there is no one size fits all solution. Some pens work with fast-flowing inks, other pens don't work as well. So there is some amount of trial and error that goes into pairing pen with ink.
