Very. They are a tiny Swedish company that pay for top talent, are quite active and hands-on in the netsec community. It's not a faceless corporation with a Chinese PO Box.

I'm not positive about this but I believe the virtual threads can yield at syscalls (i.e. IO calls). I don't think GUI application code is littered with these syscalls where a virtual thread can naturally yield so you get non-bloc

Europe tends to have good consumer protection and isn't completely captured by lobbyists unlike the US.

That's quite the extremist position you have there. Would you like zero government services? For profit police and fire departments?

I think that's part of our responsibility as engineers to ensure that technical debt doesn't pile up. Business will want to focus on pushing new stuff and engineers have to be a counterbalancing force. It's literally your job

If you start a rewrite or a large refactor, for Gods sake, follow through and _finish_. Otherwise you have made things even worse. I can't tell you how often I've come across the remnants of such projects, abandoned with some sliv

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited by the discovery of semaglutide. I'm not particularly heavy (BMI of 26.5) but I would happily pay for it if it was available over the counter. I wonder how long that will take, if ever.

I'd say that applies extremely rarely. When success depends on putting in the work (which is most often the case, especially if you have a higher aptitude than most), giving up easily is a major impediment. I say this as someone who ha

I was quite into QWTF (the original Team Fortress) and being able to use OpenGL allowed you to have gorgeous see-through water. This was a massive advantage because players tried to avoid snipers by going through the water. Also super usefu

Seems I hit a sore spot to provoke such a pedantic reply. Obviously the cryptography was not enabled by crypto currencies, but the possibility to accept ransom payments at scale with little risk. Are you going to argue that crypto didn'

I've had a surprisingly hard time finding a bare-bones Raft implementation in Java purely for leader election. The same hunt also surprised me that there is no common way to do leader election among pods in Kubernetes.
