Enterprise applications typically need a data store that offers multiple connections, transactions and atomicity. Even for very simple apps though I like using a DB to store data, and then text files for import/export to other programs

Interesting - red got blue and green into a corner, had time to gobble them up for itself, and then went on to defeat black!

Use a "NoSQL" database when you have very large amounts of data (so you need 1000s of separate disks) or large volumes of queries (so you need a 1000s of separate servers). Otherwise MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle etc. is probably fine

Hmm. You are not thinking in business terms. You run a software house: do you want your developers reinventing data storage on each application? Or using a fairly decent data storage that is RDBMS. Most of the time RDBMS is a very good choi

Yes anyone else reading this who consumes any caffeine. Seriously ... give it up. Completely. It is a drug. I did it and I now sleep better, need less sleep, feel more awake in the morning, and save money. This is one of the best 'life

Start a hacker bootcamp in a low-cost country, e.g. India, Philippines. Hackers pay a reasonable fee ($10k I imagine, or less) for a year of accommodation, cooked meals and other basic luxuries. And fast internet access. They being their ow

What is the point of this? I don't see a situation where this would be a better choice over: (1) XSLT (2) Regular programming language e.g. Java / .NET and use the XML libraries to build the document. Also with the navigation e.g.
