I agree about the buzzwords. We have deployed a core service developed with Temporal recently and it seems to deliver on its promises. I am looking forward to using it more. Once it 'clicks' you begin to see how the workflow mode

It does depend on the context but I mostly use the '2 hours ago notation'. Sure, if you're looking for a specific timestamp or something that happened 2 months ago, it's not useful and then I switch to the timestamp form

What don't you like about the replacement (nit the sculpt, the actual new design)? I consider it strictly better (namely because of the space bar being better).

Just wanted to say that this seems like a very weird statement to me. I don't consider motherhood to be anything easy but valuing something majority of women can do over 'anything', however revolutionary, amazing or generally

I love this. Very creative way of handling the search and persistence with the fulltext search to have it easily work as a todo (or any other "tag") app. I wouldn't use it in a browser with local storage only but it actually

Here similar experiment, 6 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKXOucXB4a8 If you think that actual government agency cannot do even more easily with better equipment in 2020 you're kidding yourself.

I did not notice the load times as I basically never close chromium but I have noticed (not a snap expert): 1) It does not work well with the rest of the OS (e.g. I will pin Chromium to task bar but after a bit it will stop using that icon

This is my first time seeing SerenityOS but I find it absolutely lovely. I can appreciate the hard work the contributors are making to the system and tools but what I find the most endearing is the crisp, clean design.. Everything looks sna

Hmm, I am not particular convinced by the example. How is this different from developing on say JVM, using Kotlin and finding a library providing DSL for HTML? I was hoping for practical things that fundamentally impossible to describe conc

> There are domains in which I can get 100x or 1000x improvements (i.e. 1 line of Lisp code is the equivalent of 1000 lines of Java or C) That's quite an extraordinary claim. Would you mind sharing some examples of that?

I understand that but those don't fall into the "not for sake of programs" category. Under that category, I imagine something where the resulting program itself is of any, however minuscule, use to me.

What does it mean though? What programs? I can't write new programs at work where I maintain existing applications for the most part. What kind of programs, not for the sake of programs, can you actually write almost daily?
