I found the waiter/waitress quality model was pretty effective for judging the economy. If the economy was strong, the service would be worse, since the best people could get better jobs elsewhere. And if good people were having a ha

The problem (ignoring quantum mechanics) is that the sensors all require an EM field to operate in. So assuming that the speed of light was weighted with a vector in space-time, it would be affected everywhere -- including in the measureme

If you work in a highly monitored environment, all HTTPS transactions are decoded -- because typically there's a root cert installed. That is one form of an adversarial admin, say. You can limit HTTPS traffic to port 443, and only al

I've always respected PonyORM because of their level of hacking of the python language. select(p for p in Product if p.name.startswith('A') and p.cost <= 1000) PonyORM inspects the AST of the generator, and then t

QUIC could be allowed, but only if it can be decrypted by the adversarial admin. If the data can't be decrypted (or doesn't look like plain text web traffic) by the adversarial network admin, the QUIC connection can just be blocke

I think maybe it's easier for an adversarial network admin to block QUIC altogether.

Looking forward, it seems possible for Amaranth to be a full fledged language unto itself without needing python. One could maybe use python as an embedded macro language still -- which could be very powerful.

I probably should have clarified that question. What does QUIC get you that TCP over Wireguard over UDP does not?

TCP over Wireguard is two state machines stacked on each other. QUIC over Wireguard is the same thing. Yet, both seems to work pretty well. I think I see your argument, in that it's similar to what sshuttle does to eliminate TCP over

You can build a custom L7 on top of anything, really. I think my favorite was tcp/ip over printers and webcams. The question is what does QUIC get you that UDP alone does not? I don't know the answer to that. Is it because fire

I think the trick these days is find a layout you like with hot swappable cherry mx switches that have a qmx/via style configurator. Then you can configure the buttons however you want. Or you know... go build your own. It's fun.

Depending upon the cost and how much they mean to you there are a couple of options. One is to replace the switches. If they're hot swappable then it's easy. If they're not, it's hard -- but easy if you're willing

It's a pretty common mechanism in humans to replace one craving with another. AA (e.g.) doesn't necessarily care if you have a two pack a day smoking addiction -- that's not what they're "optimizing" for. >
