I'm interested in your personal experience with r/uk vs r/ukpolitics. I've stopped reading either as to me it seemed that they both had a pretty strong auth-left bias. I felt this was more pronounced in r/uk - to th

This is hilarious. The US has a more painful past than Germany or France? That’s some pretty strange American exceptionalism.

I mean, what is the alternative? We spend the rest of our lives hiding in our houses? He is right - at some point we will collectively decide COVID is a risk worth running to actually live life. And it might be that it does make day-to-day

That’s completely untrue - The design of crumple and impact zones like the hood, bumpers and headlights absolutely do help pedestrians. There is a suite of Road safety tests designed to specifically evaluate exactly that: https://

Ideally in the moose test the moose and car never make contact. It is a test of the car's ability to safely support extreme evasive manoeuvres, rather than its crash survivability. Tall SUVs typically fare worse at this because of thei

Electric vehicles often have much better safety credentials than their ICE powered counterparts for a few reasons: * All of the weight is in the bottom of the vehicle, giving a lower centre of gravity. I'd bet this will kill the old F1

Thats true, but you really can't have it both ways. You either want a professional opinion on the quality of the house or you're willing to run the risk. Anyway, the banks aren't doing inspections for the benefit of the buyer

Thats just nonsense. There absolutely is a requirement to disclose known faults with the property, and if a survey (which every buyer does) shows up something serious, there is a legal requirement to disclose it to all parties. Also most ba

I’d be pretty careful drawing any conclusions about the mood of the nation from Twitter. The Twitter crowd are very loud and quite extremist but I believe they are small in number. To be honest I’d just avoid Twitter all together. Nothing g

Why not just tax gas? It’s the perfect solution. The more you drive, the more you pay. The more polluting your car, the more you pay. Long term it seems inevitable that tax will need to move onto the electricity used to charge cars.

It is almost difficult to describe someone who hasn’t seen it how powerful tides in the UK can be. Where I live the tidal range is over 12m from low to high tide and flows like a massive fast-moving river at peak times. It can easily overpo

This is a great post let down by the need to inject some lame shots at the Tories. A quick Google search shows that smart motorways first came about under a Labour government, and were extended several times during their tenure.
