In my opinion this is a benefit, subconversations during a meeting are distracting. If it doesn't need to be discussed by the entire group, that conversation should happen after the meeting. Zoom meetings where everyone is on a separa

Totally agree, just wanted to point out that I've been running Arch on multiple desktops & laptops for years and never had to compile a driver before. Maybe that's a thing for niche hardware but pretty much everything just wo

Right or wrong, the school district is taking preventative measures in an attempt to protect public health. Suing them over that would not look particularly good for the union.

I also don't know the real statistics, but I don't think it's fair to assume the used car will last the same as a new car. If new cars cost $30k and last 10 years, and used cars cost $15k and last 5 years, you break even. Alt

I don't think your 2nd bullet is completely true, although I don't think it's the same as how it worked in v4. You can receive income in January, then switch to February and allocate it to a category. When you switch back to

In my experience, most people don't actually claim there is no higher intelligence or god. They just don't accept the claim that there is (because there is no evidence). The nuance of this tends to get lost through imperfect lang

Fair points. All I was trying to say was that Electron and other technical decisions should be evaluated by their actual business impact, which vary from app to app.

I feel like there's a lot more low-hanging fruit that could be added to the Chrome experience to win people over, rather than building a relatively expensive game streaming platform.

Don't use Electon. Your users WILL notice and complain about performance. Is this actually true? Slack and Discord are valued at ~$7B and $2B respectively, and neither have found it necessary to move off their Electron apps. I assum

I agree with you and I'm concerned that the streaming market is going in a less-user-friendly direction. That said, for me Amazon Prime is $10, Netflix HD is $13, and HBO is $15. I can't get get BBC in the US, so let's swap i

The alternative model is what franchises like Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed do: spend $60 every year on a brand new game while the previous year's game is unsupported. And $60 is without any of the extras...you can pay $80 fo

I believe inefficiency is a red herring. I want the government to collect taxes to fund these efforts for two reasons: 1) So that we can have consistent, reliable, and widely-available services. 2) So the financial cost of society is sprea

The HP Spectre x360 is a good example of bezel-shrinking in laptops. I have a 13" model and it's nice to have a more compact laptop. I have no idea why this style isn't more popular. Maybe it seems too fragile to consumers?

Why wouldn't you want to keep the constraints as close to the data as possible? That way you avoid the issue that the Rectangle struct is reused somewhere else, but without the correct constraints.
