Yes, I wholeheartedly agree, it was a stupid decision by the Selenium devs not to make request headers etc. accessible. But why throw all the standardisation efforts overboard?

So first there was Selenium's JSON Wire protocol, then came the W3C WebDriver spec and now we're back to browser-specific implementations? As someone who's tried/is trying to automate Firefox/Chrome/Safari/

They had no malicious intents? Like in they had no intentions of hiring open-source maintainers, taking over their codebases and quietly injecting their product? Point is, if we don't consider this sort of behaviour malicious then we c

Yes, I agree, forks are another bad consequence and usually undesirable (though there are exceptions, e.g. it worked for the Node.js community). Had Kite not subverted the plugin, there wouldn't be a need for a fork.

There is a fork[1] that reverted the changes made by Kite. This is not a question about sustainability as the project was well supported, feature-complete and saw regular releases. Rather, this questions the consequences of giving companies

Can you point to an instance of offensive behaviour towards minorities in the Rust community? I'm not involved in Rust, and I have no strongly held opinions on the topic at hand. However I cannot recall coming across the abuse you desc

Congrats on the release! A bit unrelated, but the README says Windows is an officially supported platform, and I've seen this be the case on many Go projects. I know very little about the Windows platform, can you comment on how painl

A Rails app is literally one or more Ruby processes whose task is to respond to HTTP requests/WebSocket connections. Yes, these processes will probably make use of other services (e.g. a database server). An Angular app is a JavaScript

I disagree. For data persistence one still needs to talk to a backend. What sets Rails and Angular apart is not only view/template rendering.

Angular is a frontend framework, Rails is a backend framework. Care to elaborate?

React's virtual dom/diffing is certainly not "slow". It's not the tool that's the problem, but how it's used. There's also more to perceived slowness than how fast your library reconciles the DOM, e.g

Don't overengineer it then. You'll do fine with old-school server-side rendering and polling for new posts with plain JS.
