I had n95 masks saved from the fires around me in previous years, but i generally don't run into people where i live so i can skip the mask when outdoors. People generally stay away from each other where i live, too. I don't live

I really want to work for a boss like this, but the really good managers are rare. My last "manager" didn't talk to me for nearly the last 5 months I worked at the company and I hounded him for code reviews and 1 on 1 meeting

There's so much conflicting information out there right now that I'm not even listening to it. I'm wearing masks and avoiding people, because my wife has bad lungs and I have a 6 month old. Until there's more facts that

It depends. For HN, an email is immaterial, but for Amazon shopping you want to be very sure you have the correct email.

With the positive comments here, perhaps the HN mods wouldn't mind if you posted an update yourself once the AWS migration is completed? I know there's rules around that, but I think they are okay with the occasional self-promotio

You're mostly incorrect here, most grid scale installations are for DCM and local capacity in areas where the grid is oversubscribed. You're correct that current storage capacity is small but there are a lot of companies installin

What if we just got rid of files and put our code into a database? You'd just have a "new code block" button, which creates the editor tab for your code, usually a function or a class, and usually one item per block. When you

This is the same taking points that have been and will be repeated ad infinitum. There's no actual analysis, just "facts" with no evidence, just some thin veneer of appeal to authority, as usual. I'm not stating an opini

Yes! Hawaiian was great for years, then they reduced the service considerably. Now, even locals who want to support locals don't fly Hawaiian because there's cheaper flights that have about the same service level.

This will be used for some niche use, like a closed road for dump trucks to run full time, or on train tracks for electric trains. This is too complex even compared to putting a cable in every parking space that currently exists.

I'm not okay with anyone being on the street. Lots of people are losing their jobs and homes, and landlords shouldn't have any special protection from that effect than anyone else does.

I worked with Tesla grid batteries (powerpack installations) at my last job, but I'm currently looking for work. I just got tired of "engineering" my personal projects, i just "program" them now!
