I remember browsing through this book once: http://www.amazon.com/Instrument-Engineers-Handbook-Vol-Meas... And I was utterly amazed at the instructions it had for building almost so many different things. I also have an ol

Okay, this is beyond silly. Still ignoring tape. Explain how BDXL, a new format, which has never proved itself beyond a few years, which costs $45 for a few hundred GB, which AFAIK has very little data on re-writability (which is probably t

Let's not conflate unit testing with integration testing. SQLite should, in most cases, work just fine for unit testing. First off, many people would argue unit testing should never really require a database. I'm not of that opini

It's unfortunate most of this was debated at the beginning of all the hype around NoSQL data stores. It would be some work, but still be relatively trivial to build a query spec, probably based off of SQL 92, and a basic type system sp

Do your eyes have zoom and both active and passive (near or far)-infrared detectors? Because you could easily put those on robotic (or even non-robotic) cars. You could even put several on a robotic car. Take this, for example: http:/

This is probably close, at least for launch. The problem with this theory, however, is that tape still would have been cheaper with roughly the same footprint, and tape has the benefit of often being forward-compatible too, as the drives im

You'll almost never get pulled over for doing exactly 11 over on any street with a speed limit of 50 or higher. Thanks to the law of cosines, a cop is likely to read you going 10 or less or less, and cops generally don't even both
