Yep, out of 17 BASE accidents this year 15 were in a wing suit. I didn't do a wingsuit BASE jump until I had over 200 BASE jumps and 1400 skydives. Now every new skydiver rushes to do it after a single year of experience, and the num

They can probably liquidate the drugs due to contacts they've made in that world faster, so even if the car was worth more it could be harder to liquidate. Stealing a car is worthless if you can't sell it or get a premium for it.

What, exactly, is "crazy" about it? As a renter, you don't control your own destiny. You're at the whim of your landlord. As a home-owner, or better yet, a property-owner, you have much more control over your living sit

Probably because we came of age when Fight Club, American Beauty, and AdBusters were popular and questioning the American dream. Home ownership usually implies suburbs and crushed dreams to people born in the 1980s.

Building codes and home owners associations can cause havoc on plans you have for your own home. A lot of apartments I've rented have allowed me to repaint or install ceiling fans at least, but never anything more.

You're still going about 80 mph. Just from memory it's roughly 20 mph/second until you hit 4 seconds where it's reduced to 10 mph/second due to air resistance. The greatest chance you'd have is to impact shal

Take up skydiving and then BASE jumping. I too was afraid of heights, then one night I was on a scaffold climbing 300 ft in the air. I thought then, you know this isn't scary anymore. Skydiving is a good way to ease into it, because

I have been BASE jumping for quite a while and within that community there is a strong thread of leave no trace. It reduces the legal risk, eliminates property damage, and keeps it open for everyone else. Back to Joe, I found his blog and

Same goes for train crossings and green lights. Don't delegate your life to a signal that can break when all you have to do is look both ways as a cross check.
