First it’ll be animation upscaling. Using the current season of The Simpson, South Park, Toy Story 4 along with the first season or movie as a controlnet. Then will come applying an aesthetic like Star Wars or Mad Max to an extinct movie.

It would be interesting if Apple and Google and Samsung agreed to make dvorak (or a mutually created better mobile/swipe variant) the default mobile keyboard for all NEW accounts going forward. Unlike hardware, software keyboards could

As a starting point to "return all relevant case law" its not all that different from search, except maybe better tailored or summarized.

Chatbots with temperature are probably the wrong tool. An LLM that can translate english into formal proof, a logic engine that can apply law to events and situations, and then a translator that can turn the result back into English should

I would expect, if a University funds perma.cc that it also wouldn’t be in their blocklist. Maybe I’m too trusting of competence.

This isnt a new product. Harvard made perma.cc over a decade ago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perma.cc It's unique in that, if you opt out of the paid account route, you need someone like a library to sponsor y

This misses the forest for the trees. It doesn’t need to win awards or prestige. Someone needs to say “play me new episodes of the office or arrested development” and it needs to generate something that resembles the office or arrested deve

Wouldn’t the temperature on something like OCR be very low. You want the same result every time. Isn’t some part of hallucination the randomness of temperature?

Kinda sad to read this. The future of search is search. The future of summaries is summaries. This should be a "youve lost your way" moment. And quite frankly, search already broke the directory, which needs a comeback as its o

Pay for what you use streaming exists. I don't think it would work here. Paying a large sum and dividing it up by what you watch is basically back to cable tv, just with a little smarter more immediate billing -> analytics feedbac

The other half of the chicken and egg is that hn is “hn for devs but actually just for techy people to cover all sorts of stuff” whether that’s the intent or not. By limiting the surface area, it’s bound to never become larger than the rest
