Speaker notes seem to need an extra step; start an additional terminal on the laptop screen (not the presented screen), then start the speaker notes instance via a terminal command. PowerPoint understands the difference between your own lap

Fantastic... seriously, kudos. I love it when people use up every last ounce of their hardware.

I had someone tell me "an Air? You're a developer, you need a Pro" and I thought to myself, well this Air is frankly amazing.

Mid-2014 MBP, that's amazing. Did you buy it new? And actually used it since 2014?

I get that it's unclear. But in practice, this only matters upon purchase, and then it's simply an option whether you want one, or not.

What I encountered with smartwatches like the Xiaomi Mi Band, is that they display notifications but their font has a tiny subset of emoji. So when friend send a simple "thumbs up", it displays the Unicode replacement character. H

Genuinly curious: it seems like you are making a remark on his character, right? But why did you do so? Just fed up? Or did he actually state something wrong in the parent comment?

Refreshing to be reminded of a relatively simple alternative to websockets. For a short time, I worked at a now-defunct startup which had made the decision for websockets. It was an app that would often be used on holiday so testing was don

Yeah, I don't get all this fuss. I mean, if you block ads then do you think Chrome will also stop reporting to the mothership? Of course not. Use Firefox and simple be done with all this hoohah.

Such an awesome article. I like how they didn't just go with the Cloud wave but kept sysadmin'ing, like ol' Unix graybeards. Two interesting things they wrote about their SSDs: 1) "At this rate, we’ll replace these [SSD]

Goshdarn I love this post. I enjoyed my morning coffee while looking at the calculations, and the description of the debugging mode. It's a clever usage of native components. Currently my experience is with SwiftUI and it's almost

You'd say someone would build an API to retrieve that information by city. But I would not be surprised that the product seller can't be bothered inserting that information into their sales flow.

Did you mistype or are you actually somehow using a 57 inch monitor? If really 57”, are these multiple separate screens? I went up from 32 to 40 and regret it, to be honest. It’s m nice for Xcode, but for any other use, it’s too big for me.
