Judging by this article alone, I'd say "prior art". >However, the plaintiffs came forward with minimal evidence to support their argument of infringement. They also faced abundant evidence showing that the patents were invalid based on

Oh, man, good article, but the page that the word "win" links to, in the last paragraph, is just ridiculous.

Allowing only signed apps has one huge advantage: no malware. I do feel that Apple should weaken its requirements and only disallow bad apps.

Does this exist, or is it just a late April Fools' joke? Because it seems awfully quick to come up with a real competitor to the iPad...

It's quite ironic that, in the week after the release of the iPad, this here is the only subject with a buzz among computer geeks on the internet.

Five years ago, I bought a laptop instead of a desktop, just for the fan noise: at least, a laptop is quiet. I've never used it on the road. Just agreeing with you... and I am a programmer, not just a home user.

It doesn't add up. 230 consultants, average pay $400,000 each.. that makes "only" $90 million.

But... Did they cancel the event, or didn't they? I'm confused there. Maybe they just forbid the organizers to go ahead. Maybe they really did cancel it.

The best way I can think of to get out of this situation quickly, and relatively painlessly, is asking this question: "I get paid to do this kind of work. Why would I do this for you for free?"

I think vendors should not hold back, but start selling those 4k disks now. So XP users won't buy them, if they know what they're doing... But it might be a compelling reason for people to upgrade their OS, if disks for their OS are smaller

StackOverflow is a help when you don't find the answer with Google. It's not really new: it's more a successor to Usenet which is getting quite dated -- especially since most of the old folks have abandoned it.
