Completely agree. Personally I’m optimistic we’ll continue the trend line of improvement.

You point out so many problems with our current structure that are worth addressing. But at the same time, the current system is hugely better than chattel slavery. Western citizens and workers have gained substantial rights and freedoms ov

It’s funny I’ve been pondering something similar. I’ve started by writing an agent first api framework that simplifies the service boundary and relies on code gen for sql stubs and APIs. My next thought was to implement a multi agent workfo

Exactly, there’s different types of agencies. Some focus on sourcing labor at a markup. Others focus on producing a work product that they specialize in. From my experience these guys tend to have larger margins.

I can’t speak to Teams specifically, but I have worked on heavily licensed audio stacks and open ones like WebRTC. Try out WebRTC and compare it with Google Meet. While meet is based on WebRTC, the patents licensed for audio make a huge dif

For teams and zoom, the problem isn’t the tech. It’s the audio patents required for a good experience.

I think Linux adoption will rapidly grow with the adoption of LLMs. Esoteric errors are now resolvable with a simple query. Often with just a few cut and paste commands. This improves the rough edges to a point that Linux is now a reasonab

I think LLMs also kill off most programming languages. I think we’ll end up with a handful of languages that LLMs most proficient at writing for and the languages required for device or processor compatibility. The cost improvement for an L

I think there’s even odds Microsoft does this. The cost savings would be immense. This ignores the fundamental problem: Microsoft has poor taste. It’s everywhere. Cloud products to operating systems. After peaking in 2010 or so, their produ

I loved digg too. So weird it’s HOD. Scaling tech much easier with modern infra. Still hoping hacker news front pages my Rick and Morty inter-dimensional cable inspired news site someday.

Well, the poor aren't calling the shots in most countries. Its the elite. Those in the ruling party and their friends. In terms of improving conditions for the poorest decile, its a bad deal. This is why we're seeing so much w

“Free Trade” is just nice naming veneer for ongoing exploitation of the lower classes. Rich countries get richer, poor countries stay poor.

I'm specifically thinking about political protestors. Such as BLM. Or No Kings. Their right to political protest is protected and VC/MC isn't going to un-bank them without a court order. And since their right to protest is

That would require a court order against VC and MC, that they in turn might contest, and possibly get suspended--even if temporarily. But in Canada, bureaucrat Foo talked to bureaucrat Baz, and presto--you're unbanked!
