Did you even read what I said? "anywhere from UI down to the bare metal" I've done a lot of frontend work, including iOS, Android, MFC, OpenGL, Qt (with and without QML), etc... My UI work has often been praised, and I'

Strange that you feel that's what I was saying given that my original post said that I've worked in a variety of different languages and environments.

Somehow I feel like this comment is meant to be directed toward me (OP), but am struggling to see how it applies to what I was asking. In fact, I specifically asked for resources to assist me in orienting my mind to the web development way

That may be, and some of my frustration may come from being thrown in the deep end in a very large project that uses a lot of different technologies -- it seems that every other page is using a different framework -- it's a lot to lear

It's funny you say that, because that's exactly why I avoided it for so long.

Your comment ignores my introductory paragraph. I have many years of experience working on many different mature code-bases, including (and especially) C++. I know the pain of legacy code quite well, but web seems to be a whole other ball

I'm curious about this anecdote. PCs, even into the early 90s, had a keyboard buffer that was only a few dozen characters long, at most. I know because I'd frequently hit it and had learned to stop when I heard the first beep and

I was about to post the same link in another response, but then I saw you'd already posted it. It's quite scary, really. Here's my result: Your browser fingerprint appears to be unique among the 119,205 tested so far. Privac

"This browser is so dumb, it's saying that I can be identified by my battery level! Stupid Google!" ... I suspect many wouldn't understand the tracking implications, and even many who can understand it wouldn't imm

How are you defining automated? No truly autonomous cars are available yet, so they're all some form of driver assist. How are these a risk to other road users, and at which point do they become a risk and not a safety benefit? Auto-

This is very similar to a POV that I've espoused for quite some time, though I phrase it somewhat differently. A symbolic debugger is good for verifying your premises, but the actual troubleshooting should be done by thinking about the

I sincerely hope that you're wrong, but I suspect that you are not. I would love to be able to outsource the task of searching for new work and to stay focused on the needs of my clients and learning new skills. Perhaps I'm drea

Can you explain to those of us who have never used nor purchased why it would be more expensive during the harvest season than the off season? Or did you get the numbers backwards? EDIT: thanks to those who replied -- I didn't notice
