> goals, means, and sustenance Surely not sustenance in the sense of food so I presume it's what we usually call meaning? People might get it from whatever fulfills them. For many it's giving back to the community in some way.

Thank you! Not having read the bible the words sounds so specific and strong. > Do not trust in a friend; Do not put your confidence in a companion; ... For son dishonors father, Daughter rises against her mother, ... A man’s enemies are

What a terrible tragedy. The end goal here is what, inciting a perceived riot? To then apply pressure during midterms? That can’t be it. What am I missing here?

I’m not hopeful the US will vote their way out of this. Wealth equality has made the society susceptible to a fascist authority. And it’s getting worse not better. This is just the beginning. Most of all the last weeks and the upcoming “acq

I wonder if a US economy would be able to function if people at scale ate more healthily and sustainably. That would mean less of most things and more of vegetables, legumes, greens, all that unsexy stuff that is much less labour and energy

This is beautiful. I would love there to be a way to show this on a sphere instead of a flat map so I can find out how things might change in the next century with climate change. I haven't quite understood yet what the new shipping ro

Something that will change in the next century. I'm curious how that will affect shipping. I'm imagining it won't have much impact on container shipping but natural resources probably?

It's just so obvious at this point to see the wealth building up on one side and the technology that is necessary to protect it and wealth completely disappearing on the other, making people steal the deodorant in the first place. I ca

How did people that had something to sell do it before advertising? The problem again is greed. The organic way is too inefficient so advertising needs to come in and make people rich instead of letting the product do the convincing natural

Exported but not recorded, wouldn’t that be a stolen car? If so the VIN prolly can’t be reused. Or is there a legit way this would happen? Who else exports their car, doesn’t report it and then offers their VIN?

No ads in the traditional sense, sure, but they do push artists and albums for example with their stupid "pre-save" functionality, even if I don't have anything to do with them. I'd consider that an ad.

We run a plex server and I hate it. Hiding "timer" functionality (turn off in x minutes) behind a paywall feels like a shit move to me as a parent for whom this is a pretty basic functionality.

Much better than having a user interface that unreliably works to begin with. I'd rather have to replace a button after 5 years than having to use their shitty touch garbage that has what feels like a 75% false negative rate.
