AI used to write homework should be banned. AI in 1:1 tutor mode with proper hardware (live scanning pen and paper), harness and guardrails should be wildly successful (in terms of education outcomes) especially in elementary school.

category error. surely you aren't calling binary releases of binutils 'projects'? why would you call this thing a 'project' in the sense you're using?

...what's the point? pylint keeps being developed, maintained as usual, etc. and the LLM conversion pipeline (little more than "rewrite the diff in rust, make no mistakes" in a loop) runs in the background. why do you care ab

This thread is gold, looks like setting up a combination of both tools could reduce token consumption by 50% essentially doubling the subscription? Will be testing this out after morning coffee for sure

+1. this is what 'tokens are commodities' and 'there is no moat' people miss. the models are in general not easily swapped out. you always have to run evals before you can swap them around, tune prompts etc. even minor v

Not OP and I wholly agree, but you can’t dismiss the fact that they are releasing those weights. Their agenda is quite obviously to make Anthropic and OpenAI CFOs sweat bullets, but it isn’t our problem as AI consumers, right?

Different models aren’t subagents - they’re completely orthogonal. I use Gemini subagents for code review in cursor, but mostly use gpt for actual coding.

the reason to use cursor nowadays isn't the IDE (though it's helpful perhaps once a week), but how it makes running models from multiple providers trivial out of the box. I don't have to juggle keys or drop to a shell tool ca

You’d need to train a model to be able to do that. We shouldn’t be doing that as a civilization in case it works.

I'm not saying it will, I explicitly said it's a bet I think we should make. Your argument that it's only going to be more expensive going forward is something I agree with and indeed extra motivation to take the bet.
