Comparing China to the US is a false equivalency. For one, Chinese ISPs are state owned (China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Great Wall). They do not have much of a profit motive outside the typical corruption of people at the top.

The proprietary charger is magnetic and makes me less concerned about someone tripping over it. Plugging it in and unplugging it is also much easier imo. This is one of the few occasions where I hope they stick with their proprietary char
