This is probably the best trick I learned. It’s much easier to come back to a task that I left unfinished, maybe with a comment saying what’s next. When I’m really done with something and then come back later, it feels like starting from ze

I’d hate that teacher. Sad to see instructors not being aware that people focus in different ways. If anything, I thought that “looking into the distance” was the default way to focus? I’m literally looking at my window while thinking what

I don’t quite understand what’s so surprising here. “Space on disk” and “size” haven’t matched in the longest time. If you’ve ever seen a folder with thousands of sub-4KB files when space mattered you certainly know this (and I’m not that

Has something changed in the Finder recently? I remember being able to copy my node_modules-containing folders relatively quickly but now it still takes a few seconds. I wonder if they either dropped that feature from Finder or if it has a

I think you’re talking about JavaScript apps vs native apps, not specifically PWA vs native. I make that difference because electron apps are still JavaScript but not PWA, and I suppose you’re talking about the lack of good UI components in

I wish I had the same experience as you. The vast majority of time I point at tree leaves in South East Asia it tells me it’s Dicots and it stops there. Only rarely I get the actual full classification; the last time it happened was for a c

GitHub has thousands of such "features" and they're all "hidden" in plain sight in big green buttons. None of this is undocumented, they all appear exactly where you would expect them (e.g. when searching as a new u

Yes but that's irrelevant, I used a real URL that you will receive in your texts. It's real life, it happens and it sucks. Let's not normalize it.

The point is that you can always always always do better than a 100-character URL.

Before eSIMs this could not be a problem: eSIMs allowed this to be problem, so I blame eSIMs. Had they mandated the instant validation of eSIMs with a simple QR, regardless of other active eSIMs, this would not have been a problem.

SIM or eSIM here is irrelevant. The operator will block a specific IMEI that was reported stolen, so any future users will not be able to use a SIM/eSIM from that specific operator in that phone. > To me, the physical SIM card just

We must applaud these efforts. This was introduced by someone who did not look at eSIM as a mere virtual replacement for SIM cards, but a new tool with new capabilities.

AWS has a few issues: - domains are relatively expensive ($13 vs $9.15 on CloudFlare for a .com, others even more expensive) - you have to pay DNS on top of that - you have to deal with AWS

That's correct, you cannot change the name servers of a domain purchased on Cloudflare, but you don't have to use their proxy. I have yet to see a DNS zone manager as good as CloudFlare, so I've been using it anyway for the p

This is great but also unfortunate. $19.99 feels too low for this — and I say this as someone who doesn’t use paid/subscription apps. $2.99 would have been easily swallowable.

Even if it happens in the browser, the content is being shown on your domain, so good luck explaining that. The fun part: any report will include the content in full, so any report will itself be reportable.

curl is a connection tool while wget is an app. At a basic level they do the same thing, but they excel in different areas. This diagram is clearly and unapologetically biased towards curl. Feels strange that the author of curl doesn’t know
