I like the spirit of this post. I think there may be different types of barriers it conflicts with but having conversations like these are important. I do sometimes think about the distinction of a non-business entity vs a business entity.

Without knowing more than the details you've just provided, I would suggest giving the various options a second look and weighing the pros/cons. Websockets to me don't seem like the ideal approach here, since the communicatio

This is great! As a developer who didn't learn via a scholastic setting, taking the time to sit down and learn a bit of assembly was something I see as a critical point in my career. Starting with a high level scripting language, my br

Agreed on all parts. The Erlang and OTP manuals were very nicely written, and I was able to reason about most aspects of the system pretty well from reading them. I did a bit more research after writing up my comment (my mind got a bit too

Very interesting writeup. Distributed systems problem solving is always a very interesting process. It very frequently uncovers areas ripe for instrumentation improvement. The Erlang Ecosystem seemed very mature and iterated. It almost seem

I love this for easily casting my ipad to my linux desktop. I'm finding there are a handful of areas now where ios->linux UX is better than ios->Mac default UX, this being the primary one. My use case is to share puzzle solutions

Design-time support is still via a non-released package. So you'll write models/etc in C# and use EF from F#. There are ways to get design-time constructs working in F#, but it's not plug-and-play like from the C# side.

Unfortunately almost all of my work is not public. I've always envied folks with lots of public code to show and share. I had created an F# starter-kit repo (somewhere between hackathonstarter and bullet-train saas kit) along with some

This is true (with the caveat of some interesting edge-cases with npgsql and F#), however the next paragraph in the article mentions "a lack of a high-level, production web stack". Definitely a personal take here, but since I&#x27

I enjoy f# a lot, but it doesn't necessarily help with all of their problems. One of the biggest problems they mention is with postgres. F# has a postgres problem as well. Your options in f# for postgres usage include the following hig
