I find duplicate code by using a tool such as Sonar for a large codebase, or by reading and knowing the codebase if it is small enough. But I think you mean how do I refactor duplicate code? lsp-mode ( https://emacs-lsp.github.io&

Everything up to and including spell checking, yes. In fact none of those first items are remotely unreasonable to do in a terminal, rather surprising to see them being used as arguments against the terminal. - vim, neovim, Emacs configured

Indeed. I immediately assumed this was the root cause, but seeing the "fix" makes me wonder how ethical this change is.

2 of my colleagues lost their personal accounts (which they had linked to the corpo account) when they disabled/deleted the trial corpo account. They were the only 2 of us who were trialling the linked account approach so I cannot say

I do this for homelab automation using org-babel, it's great. I am yet to use tangle for anything real like dotfiles or such.

Orgzly does the job for Android, same workflow you describe but with org files. Even has system-wide note capture via system drawer which makes jotting notes and ideas very efficient. Something I need to figure out with rofi + org-capture o

Why in Emacs/vim? Because I am already in there staring at text and it's less of a context switch than switching desktops/windows/tabs. Why not just use cli? I definitely champion _knowing_ cli git for when you need it,

I was also confused by this recently. Enabling wsl2 enables Windows' "virtual machine platform", which Windows itself will then run on top of as a guest. And yes RDR2 is running stable 100fps uwqhd at max settings on my machi

Reviewers possibly use org-mode to keep track of those things. Would be trivial if Emacs is their mail reader. For those who are really taking advantage of org-agenda et al, I'd argue GitHub issue tracking UI is far more restrictive fo

Not the OP, but I have used https://github.com/dradtke/distchan in prod where portability outweighed the distribution capabilities of Erlang.

I forgot to mention the semver resource which is a bit weird to use for a single repo pipeline but comes in handy for out-of-band jobs like running an external automation test suite asynchronously.

I can recommend https://concourse-ci.org/ for pipelines that are difficult to reason about or orchestrate in, e.g. GitLab and other CI tools, due to external actors or lifecycles beyond a single codebase/repo. Builds a

When dealing with a software bug you have to reproduce the issue before you can definitively "fix" it.

Parent was talking about Debian upstream patches making it into his platform of choice; in this case RHEL/CentOS. That requires paid/volunteer package maintainers.

As one of a small group of maintainers of the build tools of our most complex app, I can concur with this. Yesterday I spent 4 hours fixing a single build/parse issue between dev and prod. I also spent just 1 hour completing multiple R

The irony here being I had to port our production RPM (rhel-based) build system to Docker just so it could have a reasonable API and be anything close to maintainable. Edit: the extreme portability and "free" concurrency were just

I switched to the 2nd gen m5 Macbook from the '13 rMBP 13", and would argue the m5 is surprisingly more than capable. Granted it's not as fast on paper or benchmarks, but it's so capable I am having a hard time trying to
