I'm making a simple service that outputs layout-following ASCII from images, PDFs of images or text PDFs. I too think the risk of hallucination is in many cases too great. I fed my system the first image in the post [0] and got the tex

I'm building a system that does regular OCR and outputs layout-following ASCII; in my admittedly limited tests it works better than most existing offerings. It will be ready for beta testing this week or the next, and I will be looking

Yeah, I think this is one of the most difficult and demanding job in the world. But my instinct tells me some filters happen too early. Don't know about the US but in France for example you need to be an engineer to become an air contr

I am self hosting on a NAS at home, with Cloudflare in front (which does the most of the work) and Cloudflare tunnels to avoid exposing anything directly. The tunnel communicates with various Docker instances depending on the services. It w

The point of coding is not to tell a machine what to do. The point of coding is to remove ambiguity from the specs. "Code" is unambiguous, deterministic and testable language -- something no human language is (or wants to be). LLM

My files are on a NAS using Samba, and Sublime Text constantly does something (maybe it tries to poll the directory?) that makes it hang for around 10 seconds every minute, making it unusable. VS Code does nothing of the sort, it has plugin

Yeah ok sure, this is common sense. But then what's really the point of advertising open positions? The only certain result for companies who do this, is they'll be inundated with pointless random candidacies...?

$20 to $30 a day? How?? I have been using Sonnet every day for a month and have spent a total of... $7 on OpenRouter (7/30 = 0.23 a day on average). Granted, I ask it very specific questions that generate short answers (many of which a

I use AI (Sonnet) to write relatively complex SQL queries, but that always need a review before implementation. It's sometimes brillant, and at the same time can suggest wrapping a single, atomic query in a transaction, for no reason.
