Of course it will. At least the second time, after you tell it that '.popup-subscribe-modal' should never be seen again.

Pop-ups aren't the problem and they never were. Ads are. The solution is not to block pop-ups, it's to use adblock, and for that we have uBlock Origin. Don't try to browse the web without it.

What I'm currently doing could be called compute-fetch-store: the compute part is done entirely in the database with SQL views stacked one on top of the other. Then the program just fetches the result of the last view and stores it whe

You can try creating a profile as a woman. I did, five years ago, on a site that advertised itself as being dedicated to "affairs" between married people. All I said was I was 20, was red haired, and open minded. Nothing more, and

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. Capture the text somehow and send that, and reconstruct it on the other end; and the best part is you only need to send each new character, not the whole screen, so it should be very small and lightn

If drones are a threat to national security, then all existing drones should be grounded, regardless of the manufacturer. Or, if Chinese drones are the threat, then all existing Chinese-made drones should be grounded? I don't understan

Your comment may be sarcastic, IDK; but if it is I concur. Fighting "CSAM" is absurd and ridiculous, and used as a justification for eroding public liberties. So is the fight against "terrorism". The US government has de

OCR is fascinating; I did some experiments on OCR for an ancient French book that made it to HN last year: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42443022 I found that at the time no LLM was able to properly organize the text

If a time comes when there are zero free browser with effective ad-blocking, it will create space for a non-free browser that does it. It would create a whole ecosystem. I currently pay zero for ad-blocking (FF + uBlock Origin) and it works
