You learn something new every day. Though I must say that "usually" doesn't really ring true to my ears. Perhaps it's the way nutrisionists talk, but is it really "usually" that way? If someone presents a jug of a liquid and says "luckily f

Wealth is neither here or there. Or did you mean intellectual wealth? Well, I'd say that newspapers, in print or online, or blogs are all in writing. Thus more or less equal in potential power. There we seem to at least mostly agree. I gues

VAT is for each member state. There are common rules on how to handle things when products cross borders in different ways, but the taxes themselves are lifted by each member state and the actual percentage differs between product groups an

Perhaps newspaper reading is not so common and complacency is more widespread in the US, I don't know, but some forms of media are more suited for more in-depth analysis while others are not. I'd say that the newspapers format gives the pub

It could very well be the single biggest one. In europe they'd probably need deals for each and every country. (Which require money and time.) The same would go for the rest of the world. (Also, the farther away from American culture the le

I'd say that in Sweden "identifying" oneself as Christian should be interpreted as having a value-system based on the traditional Christian one. What would be the alternative to identify oneself as Christian? As atheists? Where non-belief

First time I've heard of it. Where I come from it's the other way around. Salting before tasting just means you generally like more salt than most and the host couldn't have predicted that. Salting afterwards is a (faux pas) critique.

Isn't a fundamental problem that form is function? With that I mean that in the end the form of the UI is part of it's function. So are other parts, e.g. "content" is part of the UI's function as well. This would imply that there's no true

When presenting designs to clients some firms add a "pink rabbit" to it, i.e. something that's just too obvious to be ignored by the client. The discussion will then be steered to what to do about it, how to change it, what color it should
