Awesome. A go pro video of going from Filbert and Lyon to Filbert and Van Ness, now that would be rock: http://goo.gl/maps/OlHc7 For those that don't live in the city, it's one of the steepest streets in the

Bitcoin currently has a tiny market cap (1.3 B USD) compared to USD (~6 T). [1] Average BTC transaction volume is around $35 M USD/day or roughly $12 B USD/year. [2] This is comparable to stock market capitalization (57.5 T) to

Non-orthogonality: Multiple features that accomplish nearly the same result in different ways. For a language maintainer, this is another piece that will have to be supported, troubleshooted and documented. The other problem for users is th

I'm guilty as anyone of being a xenophile, but the analogy doesn't hold for scale reasons: The CEO of a startup is the leader and public face, so should be in command of the company's message. If this person cannot make them

Interesting. Perhaps if there were a term to succinctly describe a zeitgeist where participants think they are doing good but actually causing great harm in retrospect, without invoking Godwin's law. Also, any lessons or warning sign

Really cool giveaways (say a Tesla) seem to work for mass appeal on the other end of the double-end of this. And the press lap it up = free marketing. :)

Ugh, the community is barely alive and it's an unwieldy collection of non-orthogonal constructs. Generics and a few whiz-bang features doesn't paper over the sins upon sins. I see this project cutting back features or dying unde

Funny you mention OTR. I started to write that and thought of this and next comment down. Why not show a no configuration technology that could be packaged/advertised a little better and be really useful instead?

Strawman recapitulation of PHKs thoughts. Unfortunately, the conclusions are both wrong, and naïve at worst. Crypto that gets used has to be easy-to-use, MySQL style. I think a project like tcpcrypt is great example, in theory. Simple is

Yeap. Most gear over 10 years old is likely to have this problem. Power supplies, TV, cheap a/v gear. As an interesting note, I cracked open /A/D/S car amps and related gear from 1980's. Crazy engineering... No
