There were and will be several people pushing to buy property, Bitcoin, a particular stock, etc at different points in the past. Investing in things like property makes more sense and somewhat more timeless than things like Bitcoin. But sti

Coasting is fine. Right? Dunno if you are bay area. The blog article is mostly about SF, but his points about work culture might apply to the broader bay area. Maybe issues like safety and cleanliness are better in other parts. Practically,

I suppose it is hard to find a team like that. Team needs to be owning and building out something that is getting traction and growing. And an engineer has only a few chances (2-3) to get this early in their career.

One way to establish that expertise would be to execute and show the others that your advise/strategy is good. For that I think we have to execute fast. So we can build first, ask permission later. And if you build fast enough, then ot

Engineers should avoid pursuing the perfect, most-generic, elegant solution. Spending too much time to decide the best tools, the right design pattern, etc. Coding is a lightweight process (compared to other forms of engineering). So it is

I got into Rust by working on Advent of Code 2021. The problems seem arbitrary, repetitive and sometimes unnecessarily hard. But they are well-designed for starting on a new language. We are forced to repeatedly use basic concepts of a lang

Exactly. But how much effort was and is being put to control the psyche of the masses to achieve the population control? How much of this effort was original and far-sighted with good intentions?

Would be great to see the thread of "replies" functionality also. I use that feature in Telegram and WhatsApp for chaining related stuff. I have long lists like that. And separate streams for work and personal is definitely one us

App looks great. The autocomplete suggestions for hashtag is nice. Would you add functionality to edit notes? Also I want to keep a few different "threads". I guess the workaround is the hashtags.

I was hoping, like others in this thread, to see something that takes HLL code and outputs a ASIC design. Of course it would have to be limited in the type of code it can take. It is similar to programming FPGAs. Are there applications that
